The main parts of the event will be:
- Telescopes and other equipment for safe viewing of the transit and the
Sun (also before and after the transit). This will take place
in the central area of the Frognerpark, close to the famous Vigeland statues.
Few places anywhere in the world can give a more splendid setting for this
historic event!
- The national price "Årets Nysgjerrigper"will be given to the most
inquisitive group of pupils. Takes place tuesday June 8 at 10:30 am.
- Stands with exhibitions and activities. The exhibitors will be
organisations active in reserach, science or technology.
- A big screen showing the transit of Venus as viewed from Oslo and
other cities in Norway. In case of bad weather we will still be able
to watch the phenomenon (and all the other activities in this event).
- Sale of astronomical products, exciting stands for people of alle
ages. The activities will focus on science and technology.
- Sale of eclipse glasses for safe viewing of the transit and booklets
about the event.
- A big mobile planetarium with space for 70-100 people. Here you can
enjoy the starry night even in the middle of the day!

PARTICIPANTS IN FROGNERPARKEN:
Årets Nysgjerrigper
The award "Årets Nysgjerrigper-pris" is given to the most inquisitive group
of pupils in Norway.
The purpose of this national competition is to stimulate ypoung people
to find the answers to questions they find intriguing through project work.
Groups of pupils or even whole classes do scientific work in severel fields
to try to answer the questions. The winners get three "dream days" in Oslo
and also honour during the award ceremony. In addition to the winners, four
other contributions receive prizes. All contributors receive a report from
the jury, a diploma etc. More information about this contest can be

07-06-05 tid for forandring
On June 7, 2005 it is 100 years since Norway was liberated from the union
with Sweden. The idea of 070605 is to invite the Norwegian people to
participate in the
creation of a new liberation - this time from a situation, not from another
nation. The campaign was launched on the 7th of June 2000.
Win back the time, look at the stars and get the fascination and calm in your

PLANETARIUM
Enjoy the starry sky in the middle of the day!
With a planetarium we can show the swarms of stars, the planets and the
constellations even in broad daylight. Under a dome more than 70 people
may have a guidet tour of the fascinating objects and constellations in the
sky.
Or maybe you want to learn the most important constellations and know
their background and the mythology?Or you may want to know more about
the strange and fantastic phenomena in space. Then you should visit
the planetarium!
Their will be shows each hour (see details at the planetarium). During the
transit there will be periods with no shows. The shows are done in cooperation
between Norwegian Astronomical Society and Science circus.

Frognerparkens Cafe will be open from 11 to 23 on Monday and from 07
to 23 on Tuesday.
