Thursday July 31st:

Exhibits, activities, planetarium and more are open from 2 pm - 8 pm
Solar eclipse glasses can be bought during this period.

2:30 pm: Information about the upcoming event with pictures and films. Knut Jørgen Røed Ødegaard
3:00 pm: The spectacular movie Solarmax will explain us how we depend on the Sun and phenomenons occuring on the Sun.
3:45 pm: "Ask Knut Jørgen". Do you have any questions about space or the solar eclipse? Astronomer Knut Jørgen Røed Ødegaard answers questions from the audience.
4:45 pm: Films and animations about space.
5:30 pm: The lecture "Bang!" (in Norwegian) about the Universe' most spectacular, violent, beautiful and important phenomenons. Knut Jørgen Røed Ødegaard
6:15 pm: The spectacular movie Solarmax will explain how we depend on the Sun and phenomenons occuring on the Sun.
7:00 pm: Entertainment.
7:45 pm: The day is over. What will happen tomorrow?

Friday August 1st:
THE SOLAR ECLIPSE!

Exhibits, activities, planetarium and more are open from 9 am - 2 pm
Solar eclipse glasses can be bought during the same period.
9:00 am: The start. There may be a surprise - come and see!
9:10 am: Concert.
9:30 am: The spectacular movie Solarmax will explain us how we depend on the Sun and phenomenons occuring on the Sun.
10:33:06 am: The partial eclipse begins in Oslo.The first images can soon be expected. We will receive new pictures as soon as something happens.
10:46 am: The solar eclipse begins on Kvitøya near Svalbard.

Films and animations about space. Interviews, presentations about the largest telescope-organization in the world, ESO. Representants for the organization present current and upcoming giant projects which may change our view on space. Presentation about the climate- and ice situation in the Arctic by The International Polar Year.

11:46 am: The solar eclipse is soon to be total on Kvitøya. We receive pictures from the Orion-plane above the Arctic Ocean. Countdown to the first total solar eclipse on Norwegian Territory since 1954.
11:47:12 am: Maximal eclipse on Kvitøya.
11:48 am: The totality phase ends on Kvitøya.
11:50 am: What have we seen, what does it means and what will happen later in the day? The eclipse is not over! Knut Jørgen Røed Ødegaard.
Films and animations about space. Interviews.
12:45 am: The eclipse is total in Novosibirsk.
13:10 am: We will receive pictures from Novosibirsk and therefore experience the totality phase an hour after the historical moments on Kvitøya.
13:30 am: Summary of the day and information about the next large events, amongst them the longest solar eclipse of the century in China on July 22nd 2009.
13:40 am: Concert.
14:00 am: The end for now.
