PHOTOGRAPHING THE SUN AND PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSES

Photographing solar eclipses, especially the partial phase when only a part of the Sun is covered by the Moon, is not particularly difficult provided you have a suitable camera and plan the pictures well. All you really need is a regular 35 mm camera, a good solar filter and normal film. But to have a reasonable large solar disk on the film you'll need something like a 500 mm telephoto lens or a equivalent pair of binoculars on a solid camera stand or binocular set-up. This article will help you capture good pictures of partial solar eclipses.

Good luck!
